Deep in the forests of Madagascar...

Just south east of Africa sits the fourth largest island in the world: Madagascar. It is home to some of the world’s most extraordinary wildlife and the majority of species found here exist nowhere else on earth.

Transferring skills from Chester to Madagascar

Update from South America & our work to protect the Ecuador Amazon parrot

In 2014 ten members of Chester Zoo staff went on an expedition to Ecuador to learn more about the Ecuador Amazon parrot. Two members of the team have since returned to carry out more surveys on this endangered bird.
